About the artist

Susie Smith

For Susie, interior design has always been about more than aesthetics. With over two decades of experience, she creates spaces that are functional, expressive, and deeply personal.

Susie’s talents extend far beyond the world of interiors. Driven by a desire to create something tangible to enhance a space, she recently embarked on a new artistic venture, crafting unique works that combines her love for nature by using feathers and her long practised skill of embroidery by forming beaded hand-sewn central pieces for her artworks. This chapter in her creative life draws upon her love of textiles and sewing which are demonstrated in striking, one-of-a-kind pieces.

What truly defines Susie’s textile art is the intention behind it. Working mostly with recycled beads, each bearing its own past, she arranges them to create fluid, watercolour-style compositions. Guided by biomimicry, her work reflects the gentle transitions of colour, light, and shadow found in nature.
